A Creative Force Breaking Boundaries in Arts, Fashion & Sports

Born in the heart of Atteridgeville in 1995, Thabang Molokomme is more than an artist; he is a movement. A visionary with deep roots in community upliftment, Thabang has become a multi-talented pioneer in fashion, performance arts, and sports. With a humble spirit and an unshakable work ethic, he is proof that dreams born in dusty streets can shine on international stages.

From Simba Chips to the Spotlight

Thabang’s journey began at Bathokwa Primary School, later continuing at Bokgoni Technical Secondary School. While many of his peers focused on academics alone, Thabang was already showing entrepreneurial spirit; selling Simba chips and taking part in school beauty pageants. These early moments revealed a leader-in-the-making: bold, expressive, and unafraid to stand out.

A spark lit when he attended acting classes at the State Theatre, leading to performances in productions like Fashion My Success South Africa, staged at both the State Theatre and Breytenbach Theatre.

Purpose Over Popularity

“I wanted to be me,” Thabang recalls. “I created things that reflected my own identity first; before I ever cared about the applause.” That mindset birthed his first business and continues to guide his brand today.

However, his path has not been without challenges. From narrowly escaping a human trafficking situation at a young age, to being unfairly dismissed as a costume designer in Freedom the Musical; Thabang has turned rejection into redirection.

That firing became a turning point. “I said, I’ll come back stronger. And I did; I wrote my own stage play, and that play opened up the entire industry to me.”

Empowering a Generation of Creatives

Thabang’s mission is bold: To make every citizen globally known for their local-born talent. It’s a vision he lives out through numerous platforms he has created or led, including:

Tshwane Fashion Week

Tshwane Indoor Soccer Tournament

South African Creative Arts Awards

South African Legendary Sports Awards

Pheli Bev Festival (1st Annual)

Creative Arts Awards Nomination Semifinals

His organization, The South African Creative Arts Awards, is one of the first of its kind led by a young black South African who champions grassroots talent.

Giving Back as a Lifestyle

“I define success as giving back,” says Thabang. And he walks the talk. From the age of 18, he’s been donating to charities in and around Pretoria; with or without government funding. He proudly holds the title of the first young person in Phelindaba to receive an international honorary award.

A Voice for the Youth

As a community leader and role model, Thabang believes in changing democracy through youth empowerment. “Young people must vote for young people. We need to stop hating on one another and start dominating, just like our neighboring countries.”

He encourages risk-taking:

> “Start your dream with any cent; just start. Don’t look back.”

Legacy in the Making

With five fashion awards, ownership of two national sports and arts institutions, and several top-tier events under his belt, Thabang is a powerhouse. He dreams of seeing his brand appear in billion-dollar films, and he isn’t far from that reality.

He continues to fuel his growth by hosting world-class events and motivating himself through action. His business strategy is grounded in two key principles:

Business Planning

Respect

When asked who he’d collaborate with, he names Somizi Mhlongo: “He’s humble and knows how to give back.”

Outside of his creative empire, Thabang finds joy in playing football; another reminder of his dynamic identity.

Final Word

> “Listen. Learn. Master. Obey.”

Thabang Molokomme is not just a

name to remember; he is a voice to follow, a mind to study, and a light for generations to come.
