“I was very delighted and excited seeing that I was able to push myself to greater heights,” she says with a glow of pride, reflecting on her journey. From humble beginnings to becoming a voice for the voiceless, Lesedi has remained committed to her passion; empowering women and unemployed youth.
Her vision is clear: to be a force of change. As a Skills Development Facilitator, Lesedi has carved a path that not only uplifts individuals but also strengthens businesses and communities. “I plunged into the professional world with a vision to excel… a role that I believe is pivotal in shaping the future of the youth,” she states.
For Lesedi, motherhood is also a driving force. “I wanted to show my sons that they can achieve what they want to achieve. All they need to do is to take a step and go for it.” Her words are filled with conviction, embodying the very message she wishes to send to the next generation: believe in yourself and take action.
Her journey, however, hasn't been without its share of hurdles. “It is very difficult and the pressure is too much,” she confesses. “But I have people helping me out privately. Every day, I make sure to make time for everything… it’s really overwhelming.” Still, she presses on, fuelled by purpose and grounded in prayer and faith.
Lesedi has faced financial challenges and battled with self-esteem. Yet, instead of giving in, she rose; driven by the very reason she began: to create change. “Through prayer and faith, everything has come together wonderfully,” she says, her faith evident in every word.
She defines the modern South African woman as “a hard worker and a go-getter.” Her platform is not just a stage; it is a movement; a call to end youth unemployment and make women empowerment part of daily life. “This platform is a big opportunity for me to champion women’s issues and advocate for empowerment through education and economic independence,” she adds.
Lesedi believes that true beauty lies not in appearances, but within: “True beauty is within the heart and it is seen with your actions.” Her life echoes this philosophy; one of service, humility, and authenticity. Whether she's encouraging someone to take the next step or simply posing for a photo, Lesedi remains grounded. “I always remain humble,” she says. “No one can stop you except for yourself. Whatever you want, just go for it and live beyond the limits.”
Behind her unwavering strength is a solid support system. “They have given me the best support emotionally and physically, especially my partner. He’s been there every step of the way… mentally, emotionally; even driving me to events so I can rest and be ready.”
As she looks to the future, Lesedi Bright Baloyi is hopeful. “I hope to leave a positive impact in one’s life,” she concludes. And from the looks of it, she already has.
